At the same time, progressive ministries face a shortage of experienced ministers.

2. Are we trying to recruit ministers away from conservative traditions?
No.
Threshold Ministry does not:
• recruit
• convert
• or direct individuals toward specific outcomes
We provide space, language, and support for reflection.
Over time, individuals may make different vocational or theological decisions—but those decisions are not directed by the organization.
3. Why not partner directly with theologically open denominations?
Maintaining independence is essential to:
• preserve credibility with clergy in traditional settings
• avoid perception of agenda or recruitment
• protect partner organizations from potential backlash
Our neutrality is a strategic asset.
4. Who is our primary audience?
Conservative Christian clergy and spiritual leaders who are:

This is often an early, private and often lonely stage of development.

7. Why is our focus on conservative Christian ministers?
The consequences of a change in beliefs can be particularly serious for a minister serving in a tradition with clearly defined doctrinal expectations. For a minister, changing your mind isn’t just theological. It can affect one’s career, income, credentials, friendships and family. Ministers wrestling with these issues are who we try to support.
